Who are the tutors?

Our tutors are exceptional A-Level and university students who have recently achieved outstanding GCSE results themselves, including top grades in the subjects they teach.

What makes them so effective is that they've been in your student's shoes not long ago. They understand the curriculum, exam techniques, and the challenges students face because they've successfully navigated them themselves.

Every tutor is carefully selected not only for their academic excellence but also for their ability to inspire, motivate and connect with younger students.  They are studying their specialist subjects at A-Level or university level and are passionate about passing on their knowledge, confidence and study skills.

As relatable role models, our tutors show students that success is achievable.  They don't just teach subjects - they share the habits, mindset, and strategies that helped them achieve top grades and can help your student do the same.

How do sessions work?

We offer small-group tutoring for younger students (Year 9), with groups of just 2-3 students, creating a supportive environment where everyone receives plenty of attention.  For students Years 10 and 11, we provide focused 1:1 tuition to help them master key concepts, prepare for exams, and achieve their best results.

Sessions take place in person at Dower House, Berkhamsted, Amersham and Harpenden on Tuesdays (from 3.30pm - 4.30pm or 4.30pm-5.30pm or 5.30pm-6.30pm) or online to accommodate student's individual timetables and learning needs.

The Study Shack offers GCSE tutoring, led by exceptional A-level and university students with a proven track record of outstanding exam success either in person or online to accommodate students' timetables.

The in person sessions focus on 1:1 and small group tutoring and study support. Students benefit from peer learning, shared discussion, and relatable tutors, while still receiving clear guidance and individual attention.

Is The Study Shack suitable for all ability levels?

Yes. Our approach is supportive and flexible. Tutors help students strengthen understanding, understand revision and exam techniques, and develop effective study habits at a pace that suits them.  For our Yr 9 group sessions, the students are paired with students of a similar level.

Where do sessions take place?

The in person sessions are delivered locally at the Dower House in Berkhamsted, Amersham and Harpenden. Full location details and session times will be shared once students are registered.

The online sessions are delivered flexibly to suit your student's timetable.
