1. About Us

The Study Shack provides GCSE mentoring for GCSE students. Our services are designed to support confidence, and study skills alongside formal education.

 

We are not a school, exam board, medical provider, or therapeutic service.

2. Scope of Services​

  • We do not guarantee academic results, grades, or exam outcomes.

  • Services do not replace school education, professional tutoring qualifications, therapy, or specialist interventions unless explicitly stated.

3. Eligibility & Consent

  • All services for students under 18 must be booked by a parent or legal guardian.

  • By booking, the parent/carer confirms they have the authority to do so and consent to the student's participation.

  • Relevant learning needs, medical conditions, or safeguarding concerns must be disclosed prior to sessions.

4. Safeguarding

The Study Shack is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

  • All staff follow our Safeguarding Policy, available on our website.

  • Any safeguarding concerns will be handled in line with that policy and relevant legal obligations.

  • We reserve the right to pause or terminate services if safeguarding concerns arise.

5. Bookings, Payments & Fees

  • Sessions must be secured in advance with a deposit.

  • Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.

  • Fees are payable in full minus deposit, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • We reserve the right to suspend services where payment is overdue.

 

6. Cancellations & Missed Sessions​​

  • Missed sessions are non-refundable.

  • In exceptional circumstances, discretion may be applied at our sole discretion.

7. Behaviour & Conduct

We aim to provide a safe, respectful learning environment.

  • Students are expected to behave respectfully towards staff and others.

  • Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring appropriate conduct.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services if behaviour compromises safety, learning, or wellbeing.

8. Online Sessions & Technology

Where sessions are delivered online:

  • Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring suitable supervision and a safe environment.

  • Technical issues outside our control may occasionally occur.

  • We are not liable for session disruption caused by internet failure, device issues, or platform outages.

 

9. Intellectual Property

  • All materials, resources, and content provided remain the intellectual property of The Study Shack unless otherwise stated.

  • They may not be copied, shared, or distributed without written permission.

 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Study Shack is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

  • We are not responsible for academic outcomes, exam results, or decisions made based on our support.

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Termination of Services

We reserve the right to terminate or refuse services if:

  • These Terms & Conditions are breached

  • Safeguarding concerns arise

  • Continued provision is not in the best interests of the student, staff, or organisation

 

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
